A little sneak-peek at MESI's all star team!

Emily Wagner
Executive Director

A rock star in every sense of the word, Emily Wagner has dedicated over 20 years of her life to MESI and all she got was one of our stupid shirts 🙄. Well, that and a diet Coke addiction. Emily does it all, from grant writing to fundraising to client interaction.  Every day she spends at the shelter is an inspiration to the rest of us- even when we're begging her to take a day off. When she's not at MESI wrangling the rest of us to do our jobs, she's at home wrangling her chickens and goats and three children- wait- two children. And husband. 😉​

Dené Kaster
​Grants and Finance Officer

Type A all the way! Dené enjoys planners, spreadsheets, and throwing things in the trash. She does not enjoy clutter. Or having to chase down the rest of us to fill out her financial trackers. (Sorry Dené...) Seriously, though, the things she can do with numbers make our heads spin, and we're not just saying that because the rest of us are bad at math. When she's not making finance magic happen here at MESI, you can find her at home tending to her flowers and taking care of her beautiful family. (By the way- it's pronounced, Deh-NAY! 😜​)

Monique Robinson
Case Manager, LMSW

Some people say that winning isn't everything, but we're pretty sure they never met Monique. We can't confirm or deny, but rumors are that Monique once challenged a basketball coach to a pickup game in the parking lot after a bad call. She won. (The coach was her husband, and let's be real- he should have totally known better 🏀​.) Here at MESI Monique Case Manages women and families, helping remove the barriers between them and housing stability!

Adrina Beltran
Volunteer and Donations Coordinator

Adrina wears a lot of hats at MESI. You wouldn't think that Volunteer and Donation Coordinator also included presenting in front of college classes and local organizations, but it turns out it does. Who knew? 😤 Since re-joining MESI after graduation, Adrina has helped revolutionize the way we engage with the world outside the shelter. She's a wild heart with a wicked sense of humor and a hunger- and I mean hunger- for estate sales. If she's not at MESI (and she is at MESI. All day. All the time.) then you can definitely find her scrounging through thrift shop bins and vintage t-shirt piles. Don't mind the dust! It's gonna stay there.

Amanda Crisp
Case Manager

Amanda is something of a superhero. And we're not just saying that because she's the one writing all of these. At least, you can't prove that. She's received incredible positive reviews from coworkers, friends, and acquaintances alike such as "Didn't you wear that shirt earlier this week?" and "I think there's actually, literally something wrong with you." Once, her office was so messy that when she cleaned it, Monique thought she quit. Amanda maintains that there's a method to her madness, but the jury is still out on whether that's true. Regardless, she Case Manages the men at the shelter like a champ and she loves what she does, so MESI is probably stuck with her for a while.
